Freedom from Pitra and Kalsarpa Dosha
Pandit Ramdev Pandey said that according to the belief, worshipping the snake god on the day of Nag Panchami frees one from the snake or Kalsarp Dosh. By worshipping Nag Dev, a person does not have to face snake bite in the future. A person suffering from Kalsarp Dosh can get rid of it by reciting Shri Sarp Sukta on this day. Whereas, to get rid of Pitru Dosh, a person has to perform special worship on the day of Nag Panchami.
