Panchang Today: October 06, 2024

Recite the Shiva Krit Durga Stotra regularly during Navratri to ensure an abundance of wealth and prosperity.

During Navratri, the nine forms of Goddess Durga are worshiped according to rituals. Many devotees recite various hymns, mantras, and chalisa to seek the blessings of the goddess during these days. One of the most powerful stotras you can recite during Navratri is the Shiva Krit Durga Stotra. According to the scriptures, reciting this stotra brings happiness and prosperity to the home. Here’s the complete Shiva Krit Durga Stotra.

Why Did Lord Shiva Recite This Durga Stotra?

As per the Brahmavaivarta Purana, Lord Krishna told Nanda Ji about this stotra. He said that while Lord Shiva was struggling during the battle with Tripurasura, Lord Vishnu noticed Shiva’s difficulty and told Brahma Ji about the power of this stotra. Brahma Ji then informed Shiva about this stotra and its divine significance. Following this, Lord Shiva recited the stotra on the battlefield.

Lord Shiva purified himself by performing achaman (ritual sipping of water) with kusha grass in his hands. He meditated on Lord Vishnu and then remembered Goddess Durga. This is why the stotra is called Shiva Krit Durga Stotra.

Benefits of Reciting Shiva Krit Durga Stotra

It is believed that reciting this stotra brings mental peace and ultimate tranquility. It removes all kinds of hardships and ensures success in every endeavor with the blessings of Goddess Durga. It also helps to defeat enemies and achieve victory.
