Panchami Tithi is dedicated to snakes. The Panchami of Shravan Shukla Paksha is known as Nag Panchami. It is believed that by worshiping the snake deity on Nag Panchami, one gets relief from all the troubles of life. On this day, there is a tradition of worshiping Vasuki, Manibhadra, Kalika, Dhananjay, Takshak, Karkotaka etc. According to the Panchang, many wonderful yogas are going to be formed on Nag Panchami this year. He told that this time on 9th August, the Panchami Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Sawan month, Hasta Nakshatra, Siddha Yoga, Bab Karan and Bhadra will reside in the Naga Lok. It is said that Nag Panchami has a very special significance in the scriptures. Worshiping the snake god on the day of Nag Panchami pleases the snake god.
